The same property.
Completely different after dark.
A mature oak lit from below creates a canopy that feels ten times larger than it does during the day. A facade washed with warm light reveals texture and dimension the midday sun actually flattens. A pathway lined with low-profile fixtures turns a functional walkway into something you notice.
Good landscape lighting isn’t about brightness. It’s about contrast, shadow, and directing attention. Done right, it makes a property feel intentional. Like someone thought carefully about every sight line. Because they did.
How we design
Lighting is about
what you don’t illuminate.
The first question we ask isn’t “where do you want lights?” It’s “what do you want people to look at?” Good landscape lighting is mostly about shadow and contrast. The fixtures create the dark areas. The dark areas make the lit areas feel three-dimensional.
We think about beam spread, glare control, color temperature, and how the eye moves through a space at night. A 10-degree spot on a tree trunk reads completely differently than a 40-degree flood. Most installers don’t think about that. We do, because those decisions are what separate a system that photographs well from one that actually feels right when you’re standing in your driveway.
Locally owned by Zach Everett in Lima, Ohio. Every installation is done by our own team. We’re the people who installed your system, and we’re the people you call when something needs attention. No subcontractors. Ever.
The process
Getting started takes 60 seconds.
We don’t need to do the whole property at once. Most clients start with one area and build from there.
Tell us about your property
Fill out the quick form above — takes about 60 seconds. Let us know what you’re hoping to accomplish and where you’d like to start. We’ll reach out within one business day.
We walk the property together
We come to you, see the space in person, and talk through what matters most. We bring ideas, but we’re listening first. Every design starts with understanding how you actually use your outdoor space.
The after-dark reveal
On install day, we come back after sunset. Every fixture gets aimed and adjusted with you standing there. That’s when the design becomes real. Most clients want to change nothing. A few ask us to shift a light or two. Either way, you leave with a system that looks exactly right at night, not just on paper.

Every part of
your exterior, lit.
We don’t have a fixed list of what we’ll light. We start with what your property needs. Most systems cover several of these zones, designed to work together as a single cohesive system from day one.
Uplighting and grazing that reveals texture, dimension, and architectural character after dark.
Highlighting mature trees creates canopy depth and scale that transforms a front yard entirely.
Guides movement naturally. Eliminates trip hazards. Creates a welcoming transition from street to front door.
Low-profile fixtures that bring planting beds, hedges, and foundation plantings to life after dark.
Creates a usable, comfortable outdoor room after sunset. Extends the season you actually spend outside.
The moment you turn in from the street. Sets the tone before anyone even reaches the front door.
Strategic downlighting and accent fixtures that make the entry feel intentional, not just functional.
If you already have or are considering permanent roofline lighting, we design both systems to work together from the start.
Our primary supplier is Sterling Lighting. Solid brass construction, 97+ CRI, lifetime fixture warranty, and 10-year LED coverage. We also carry Redwood for premium color systems and Inception for color upgrade integration. These aren’t products you find at a hardware store — they’re built for outdoor installations that need to perform through decades of Ohio weather.
Built for Northwest Ohio
Ohio soil moves.
Our installations don’t fail because of it.
Freeze-thaw cycles are the most common cause of landscape lighting failure in this region. The ground expands and contracts, connections fail, and systems that looked fine in September stop working by April. We’ve rebuilt enough of those systems to know exactly how to prevent it.
Every installation includes load calculations, on-site voltage testing, and burial depths and wire specs sized to the actual conditions of your property. Not a default spec sheet. Not a shortcut.
Investment
What landscape lighting costs in Northwest Ohio
Every project is custom. These ranges reflect what most homeowners in the Lima and Findlay area actually invest.
to $8,000
Entry or walkway focus. 10 to 20 fixtures. One or two zones. Great starting point for homeowners who want to see the impact before expanding.
to $15,000
Front facade, landscaping, pathways, and one entertaining zone. 20 to 40 fixtures. This is where most clients land on the first project.
and up
Full property coverage, multiple zones, roofline integration, and advanced control systems. Our largest residential project: a 35-acre property with 50+ fixtures.
Every proposal is custom, not a price list. Investment depends on fixture count, property size, transformer capacity, and what you’re trying to accomplish. In our experience, most clients find the final number comes in better than they expected once we’ve had a chance to walk the property together. We offer tiered options on every project so you can start where it makes sense.
What clients say
The reveal is our favorite part of the job.
Most clients say it was better than they expected. A few have said they should have done it years ago.
“Our huge oak tree looks magical and beautiful. I can’t wait to share it with others walking or driving by. Thank you for a job well done.”
“Several-year client here. This team is amazing. Well-mannered, clean, fast, efficient. In the rare instance there’s a problem, service is over the top. Quick response, no excuses. A true gem.”
“Light Up Lima did an amazing job. They were very professional and completed the job quickly. The house lights up beautifully. Thank you for the great job!”
“Zachary installed a new pathway light and repaired another one. He did an excellent job and I recommend him highly.”
How much does landscape lighting cost in Lima and Northwest Ohio?
Most landscape lighting projects in the Lima and Findlay area fall between $5,000 and $15,000. The range depends on the number of fixtures, the size of the property, and what you’re trying to accomplish. We don’t quote from a price sheet. Every proposal is built around your specific home after we’ve walked it together, and we offer tiered options so you can start where it makes sense.
What kind of fixtures do you install and how long do they last?
Our primary supplier is Sterling Lighting. Nearly all solid brass construction, 97+ CRI for accurate color rendering, lifetime fixture warranty, and 10-year LED coverage. These are professional-grade fixtures designed for long-term outdoor use. We spec them specifically for Northwest Ohio’s freeze-thaw conditions because we’ve seen what happens when you use lower-quality products here.
Do you use subcontractors for landscape lighting installations?
Never. Every installation, service call, and maintenance visit is done by our own team. That’s intentional. The people who show up know your system because they installed it. Consistency matters when something needs attention two years down the road.
How do you handle Northwest Ohio’s freeze-thaw cycles?
We engineer around them. Wire gauge is calculated based on run length and load. Burial depth is 6 to 12 inches depending on conditions. Connections are crimped and sealed with epoxy-filled heat shrink to eliminate moisture intrusion. We perform on-site voltage testing before we leave. Most landscape lighting failures in this region come from shortcuts in these exact areas.
Can you integrate landscape lighting with permanent roofline lighting?
Yes, and we recommend planning for it from the start even if you’re only doing landscape lighting now. We design systems with integration in mind so that when you’re ready to add roofline lighting, it works with your existing zones and controls. Most clients who start with landscape lighting add roofline lighting within two years.
Do you offer maintenance and repairs for existing systems?
Yes. We offer annual maintenance plans with proactive system checks, connection inspection, and fixture adjustment. We also repair and upgrade systems installed by other companies. Typical service response time is 2 to 3 days. There are few dedicated landscape lighting service providers in Northwest Ohio — that’s intentionally part of what we offer.
